From a small counselling desk in Kathmandu in 2008 to Nepal's leading full-service education consultancy.
Established in Kathmandu as one of Nepal's earliest dedicated international education counselling services. Focused on Japan, Australia, and European placements alongside JLPT and IELTS preparation programmes.
Five years of counselling operations built institutional partnerships across Asia, Australia, and Europe. Language preparation centres established. Strong Japan-corridor expertise developed, laying the groundwork for Nippon Connect.
Formally restructured and rebranded as Active Abroad Education Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. — reflecting expanded global reach, full-service capabilities, and regulated status. The three-brand structure (Admissions · The Classroom · Nippon Connect) launched.
Whether you are a Nepali student going abroad or an international student coming to Nepal — here is exactly how the process works, from first contact to arrival.
Walk in to our Gongabu Chowk office, call us, or book an online session. Our counsellor listens to your goals, academic background, budget, and timeline. No fees at this stage — just honest advice about your options.
We review your academic transcripts, language scores, financial capacity, and visa history to determine eligibility. Our feasibility study covers: Academic Feasibility (which countries/institutions you qualify for), Timeline Feasibility (which exam dates and intakes match), and Financial Feasibility (full cost projection with scholarship possibilities).
Based on your destination, we enrol you in the correct course. Japan-bound students join JLPT (N5→N4→N3) or NAT preparation. UK/Australia/Canada students join IELTS Academic. US-bound students join TOEFL iBT. Classes available in-person at Gongabu Chowk (morning & evening batches) and live online (Zoom, recorded replays available). Weekly mock tests with score reports.
Once scores are achieved, we present a personalised shortlist of 3–5 institutions matched to your profile, budget, and career goals. Each option includes: full tuition & living cost breakdown, available scholarships, post-study work rights, and visa approval rates. You make the final decision — we advise on the strongest choice.
We prepare your complete application package. This includes: Statement of Purpose (SOP) with multiple review rounds, personal essays, recommendation letter templates, academic transcript formatting, notarisation & certified translation coordination, and scholarship application essays. All documents are reviewed for accuracy before submission.
After submission, we track your application and communicate with institutions on your behalf. Upon receiving the offer (conditional or unconditional), we explain the terms and advise on acceptance. For conditional offers, we support you in fulfilling the conditions — retaking a language test, completing a foundation year, or meeting GPA requirements — before the deadline.
Each destination has different visa requirements. Active Abroad prepares the full visa file: COE/CAS/LoA from institution, bank statements, sponsor letters, insurance, medical clearances, and embassy-specific forms. We coordinate biometrics (VFS Global, Kathmandu) and track your application to decision. Japan: COE application takes 1–3 months — we start this immediately after offer acceptance.
Before you fly, Active Abroad conducts a mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation covering: destination city overview, accommodation options, bank account setup at destination, transport, SIM cards, part-time work rules, cultural norms, emergency contacts, and health insurance activation. Japan-bound students receive additional Nippon Connect cultural briefing in Japanese etiquette, daily life, and communication styles.
Our support does not end when you board the plane. Active Abroad's team in Japan (Shinjuku, Tokyo & Ibaraki-ken offices) and our partner networks in Australia, UK, and Canada provide: airport pickup coordination, residence registration guidance, bank account opening, student ID collection, community introductions, and ongoing welfare check-ins. We are reachable throughout your studies.
We act as your Nepal and South Asia regional representative — identifying, screening, preparing, and referring quality international students to your institution. Here is how the partnership works.
Your institution registers with Active Abroad as a partner institution. We sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that defines the terms: commission structure, required entry standards, communication channels, and responsibilities. No upfront fees — we earn a commission only when a student successfully enrols.
You provide us with your institution's course catalogue, entry requirements (academic grades, language scores, age limits), tuition fees, intake dates, and any scholarship or waiver schemes. We study this thoroughly so our counsellors can accurately match and brief students.
Active Abroad markets your institution to our student base through: in-office counselling sessions, WhatsApp/Viber broadcast to registered students, social media promotion, our website partner listing, and education fairs in Kathmandu and other cities. We present your institution honestly and professionally.
We only refer students who meet your stated entry requirements. Before submitting any application, we verify: academic transcripts (and have them translated/notarised), language test scores, financial capacity, and visa history. You receive document-ready, pre-screened applications — saving your admissions team time.
We submit the complete application on the student's behalf through your preferred channel (portal, email, or direct agent link). We follow up on pending decisions, provide additional documents when requested, and coordinate between the student and your admissions team until an offer is issued.
Once the student accepts the offer, pays the deposit, and enrols, Active Abroad invoices the institution for the agreed commission (typically 10–15% of first-year tuition, or as per your standard agent rate). We provide enrolment confirmation and maintain records for compliance and audit purposes.
Whether you are an independent education counsellor, a local recruitment firm, or a school with a student-guidance wing — Active Abroad offers a structured agent partnership that lets you serve both outbound students and inbound colleges under one network.
Apply to become an Active Abroad registered agent. We review your background — existing student base, office setup, team, and target markets. Upon approval, you sign our Agent Agreement which defines commission tiers, compliance requirements, and branding guidelines. Registration is free.
Registered agents receive training on: destination country processes, visa requirements, institution profiles, and counselling best practices. You gain access to Active Abroad's full institutional network (100+ partners) — so you can advise your students on institutions you would not otherwise have access to.
You refer students to Active Abroad through our agent portal or directly to your dedicated Active Abroad manager. We take over the full processing — profile assessment, language prep (if needed), application, visa, and support. You stay informed at every stage via our tracking system.
On each successful enrolment from your referral, you earn a commission — paid promptly after the institution confirms enrolment. Commission tiers increase with volume: Standard Agent → Senior Agent → Master Agent. Payments are transparent, documented, and made via bank transfer. No hidden deductions.
Agents can also introduce new institutional partners to Active Abroad. If a college or university you introduce signs an MOU with us, you earn a referral bonus on the first year of successful placements. This lets you earn from both sides — student referrals and institution introductions.
Active Abroad supports agents with: co-branded marketing materials, joint education fair representation, regular webinars on country process updates, visa policy changes, and new institutional partnerships. Top-performing agents are invited for institution familiarisation trips to Japan, Australia, and the UK.
| Tier | Annual Enrolments | Commission Rate | Additional Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Agent | 1–10 students/year | Standard rate (as per MOU) | Access to institutional network; basic training |
| Senior Agent | 11–30 students/year | Enhanced rate + bonus | Priority processing; co-marketing; dedicated manager |
| Master Agent | 31+ students/year | Premium rate + overriding commission on sub-agents | Fam trips; exclusive territory rights; sub-agent recruitment support |
A global education transforms careers, broadens perspectives, and opens doors that local institutions cannot.
A degree or certificate from an international institution significantly enhances your employability — both in Nepal and abroad. Employers value cross-cultural competency, language skills, and global exposure above all.
Countries like Japan, Australia, and Canada allow international students to work part-time while studying — helping offset costs and building professional experience simultaneously.
Thousands of merit-based, need-based, and government scholarships are available for Nepali students. Active Abroad specializes in identifying and applying for funding that makes international education accessible.
We maintain active partnerships and deep local knowledge in every destination we serve.

We assess your current English or Japanese level against destination requirements. If you're borderline for a score, we recommend which test gives you the best chance — IELTS vs TOEFL, or JLPT vs NAT — based on your strengths (listening, reading, writing).
Not every test date fits every intake. We map your target university intake (April/October for Japan; February/July/November for Australia etc.) to available exam dates and course preparation time — so you register for the right sitting, not the nearest one.
Studying abroad is a financial decision. We provide a complete cost projection — tuition, living expenses, visa fees, exam fees, insurance — and compare scholarship options. This helps families make an informed decision before committing to the application process.
